Default Where do you check your tranny fluid level?

on a T56...?

I feel like a dumbshit for even asking this, but I seriously have never done it, and I have what looks like a small tranny leak from underneath...

Driver's side has the fill plug - there's no other good way to check.

Exactly right. If you have never changed it then now would be a perfect time to ensure it has enough....go ahead and drain it on the passenger side and fill it back up with 4 Qts. on the driver side.

We weren't lying when we said the fill plug is the only way to tell - that means no dipstick, no nothing.

As for fluid, do a search. That topic has been discussed way too many times.

most (like 99%) of manual transmissions do not have dip sticks

get yourself a siphon pump from autozone and fill it till it is flowing back out of the fill hole.
