Seems like the ten bolts last a lot longer if they're all stock??

I know I've beaten the snot out of both of mine (bone stock rears) and they've never made a peep.

Ok... but the diff is still a crappy 10 bolt. I'm sorry he never specified that it couldn't have irs. You guys are all so cool for "owning" me on that one...

MT drag radials for me, not slicks

I miss shifted on the top end on the 1.76 60', but ran a 7.68 1/8th mile. It would have been an easy 11, but I screwed it up. However, I'm going back next weekend to get that 11 second slip.

Man, you sound just like me; I missed a shift on my best pass last Sunday which pisses me off cuz it would have been an 11 as well.

The "10-bolt" in the GTO is actually a Dana 8.5" similar to the old muscle car era 10-bolt. Its not the same as th 7.5" 10-bolt in the F-bodys. The GTo rear is much stronger, but I think that is where the confusion comes from.

Gotcha, thanks for clearing that up as I didn't know that info, thought that besides the IRS they were basically the same.

ive read about launching an m6 an will have more practice this season with my new ls7 clutch going in and tickmaster adj i already have. what does "slipping the clutch" mean.does that mean keeping your foot on the clutch and then letting off or "feathering it off" at 4k rpm launches? i also can't figure out side stepping? sorry for the newb questions but i will be doing a lot of practice at the strip this season.

1.56 slipping the clutch with a 4.30 gear and 100 shot. 1.60 on motor still slipping it. X2 on side stepping and you will be walking home if it even thinks about hooking. And I had a spec III in it at the time.

Spec 3's dont really slip well like a stock or full face clutch. The best you can really do is to let it out slowly so it kinda preloads the suspension. I put like 25 psi in my DR's so they spin just a little off the line.

Were any of you guys running without a front sway bar? I am thinking about taking mine off before I go to the track Saturday, but haven't decided yet.
