Can't decide, Spec Stage 3 or Monster Level 3
Ok so I'm trying to decide which clutch to go with for my turbo build. I'm going to be running a hp performance kit with a t76, and hoping for around 470 rwhp. I'm having difficulties deciding between the spec stage 3 or the monster level 3. The monster clutch costs a pretty good deal more then the spec, but is the price difference justified by that much better performance? Also anybody with personal experience please let me know what you think!
Thanks
EDIT: I Also have a ram master, and slave cylinder i will be having installed with the new clutch.
Thanks

I just tore my spec stage 3 out of my car after about 10k miles of torturing it... I was pretty satisfied with it overall, the breakin sux tho be preparred to deal with some hellacious chatter on takeoff...

What are you planning to do with the car? I ask because different stages will have different drivability charactistics. Let me know and I will be happy to provide more info. Thanks!

After hearing a lot of negative comments on the spec clutches on the GTO forum, I'm more than happy with choice for the monster. Almost stock pedal feel now.

monster 3, I just installed the monster and tick MC and I love it. It did have the spec in it but it was in there before I bought the car. The guy told me it only had 4k miles on it and I put another 2k on it before it went out. Dont know if it was set up wrong or what but it sure didnt last long

As mentioned many times on the forum there are a number of things that can affect clutch life. These include flatness of the flywheel used, break-in, driving style, planned use for the vehicle.etc... Just take the logical precautions and remember that a stage 3 is more on and off than a stock clutch and as such it may lead you to slip the pedal a bit more than normal in an effort to smooth out the engagement. Riding the clutch to induce smoothness is actually counter-productive and leads to a greater potential for chatter. I hope this info helps. Please let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks!

No, not at all.
A long time ago we offered his stuff, we had a disagreement and decided to develop our own product and that became Monster Clutch Co.
As far as pricing, we'll do some comparing;
Monster Level 3 Premium w/billet flywheel $799.99 - Includes a 12 month warranty, pressure plate, disc, billet steel SFI certified flywheel, release bearing, pilot bearing, alignment tool, and a new slave cylinder.
Spec Stage 3 $449.00 - Includes pressure plate, disc, pilot bearing, and an alignment tool.
Spec Steel flywheel - $259.00
Spec Slave cylinder w/release bearing - $105.00
Total for comparable setup - $813.00
I'm not sure of Spec's warranty, but, our pricing is on par with the competition.
