Default T56 in a 99 v6 camaro

I have been wondering whether a t56 tranny will bolt up to my 99 v6 camaro 3.8L? any input would be much appreciated!

Not directly . You would need to use some kind of adapter for it to fit the back of the engine .

I was wondering that to. I have 3.4 though. Then I could drop my 5 speed and build an engine to swap in later

As said, can be done, but teh ? should be: Why?

If your tranny blew up, and you have a free T56, then OK, maybe, outside of that, not really sure why you would want to go through teh trouble.

if you were building a race car with a v6....turbo, s/c, or nitrous....and wanted the power capabilities of the t56, along with the 2x OD so you can run good gears.

its totally feasible.

there are a few companies that specialize in engine adapters.

off the top of my head, i think one is "trans-dapt" or something like that.

Yes this can be done and bolt-in. You would need to get an aftermarket model T56( 1386-000-011) and an older bell with the bowtie bolt pattern ( instead of the Ford pattern the orig T5 used). Modify the propshaft, yoke & crossmember location.

a stock v6 doesnt have enough power to properly use a t56

its basically like starting out in 2nd gear all of the time, you will go through clutches like crazy
