Default Launching on slicks with Spec 3+ Qs

OK, I know there are tons of threads on launching, but I think every car is unique. I had a Spec 3 and I would just dump it at 4500-5500 and it would have just enough slip to get the 60 down. Now with the 3+ it just bogs, even at 5500+. Any advise? This bogging kills my 60 and ET. Do I need to slip or launch it higher?

Higher launch or more horsepowerm to keep it from bogging is about all you can do. Worse tires maybe. The new track here I launch at 7000 rpm and it dead hooks and bogs with my 3+.

More rpm will work to a point. I had 700rwhp launching at 6k+ and could still bog on the hit. I had some other things (excessive fueling) that were contributing to my issue's but the timing was one of the major ones.

I data logged my timing and would only see 8-10deg on the initial that would quickly ramp up to my total. I found the cells that mimicked my timing pattern and conservatively raised them in small increments until my bogging condition went away. I also monitered KR as well as other engine inputs to ensure I wasn't damaging the motor.

I'd find the tire pressure that allows a couple of revolutions of the tires on launch and/or more timing in the cells your pcm is accessing during the bogging condition. If you have the means, I'd also data log your passes. The more parameters you know, the easier it'll be to fix it.

I never really thought of the timing. I have HPT and log my runs so I will check it out. My gearing is right where it needs to be for my combo and power.

AC, what is your race weight?

OK, looked at my logs, timing and fuel are not an issue. Looks like the car just plain old dead hooks and that may be a bit much for my 3500+lb car. May need a slip in the clutch or tire or more RPM. I have a 9", CMDS, but the trans is basically stock. Kind of scary to go much higher. My logs show as much as 6k when I hit the tires. Maybe I will try a shorter burnout. Kind of a bass ackwards problem to have. Too much bite. lol. Just need to learn more I guess. Thanks for the comments.

Ive read that having your LCA mounted in the lowest hole can also givie too much bite. Try the middle hole if you have LCA relocation brackets.

I actually went to the top hole from the bottom because I was hitting the tires too hard and hopping ten spinning. The suspension seams perfect now. Just need to figure out how to utilize it. I pull the tires 6+inches off the ground, but then it bogs and crashes down. It is stupid. Watching a car pull the tires pretty good and then seing a 1.7X or worse 60.

Here is a vid of several runs. Some of these I did puss out of since it scared me (shame on me I know). I did manage a 1.55 (not on vid of coarse) but I don't remember what the hell I did. Just got lucky after sooo many attempts I guess.

I'd try more air in the tires.Should help them spin a bit to help launch.
