In middle of LS7 clutch swap, need help
All right I got the trans off the bellhousing and the slave pulled out. I've read that the slave does not need to be shimmed for the LS7. When I took the slave off a big metal plate came out. My question is, is that a shim? I got a new slave from SDPC and it came with no such thing. I will try to get a picture of it shortly.
Also, I can't get the damn top bellhousing bolt out. I've got the socket on a universal and extension but it seems like there is not enough room for the socket and universal to get all the way on the bolt. I'm about to pull my hair out.

I did my research before and read that I didn't need a shim I was just wondering whether that plate was a shim or a part of the slave.
Either way it doesn't matter much cause my friend decided to start the pilot bearing in and put it in backwards. So it'll probably be Tuesday before the dealership can get me another one. This has been a nightmare, I'm going out tonight and getting hammered.
If anyone is reading this and is on the fence of doing it yourself or paying someone else to do it. Check around and see how much it costs because if you can get away with it, have a shop do it for you.

All right, its almost all back together. I put in a new slave, does the clutch need bleeding? If so, I have a mity vac can I just jam the nozzle in the reservoir and give it some vacuum and hit the clutch a few times? Or is there anything special to bleeding a new slave?
