TEXtralia OZ700 with ~25,000 miles!!! REVIEW with pics!!!
I see threads all the time with people complaining about their clutch not lasting, being junk, wouldn't hold up, etc. Then I see the posts where people have good things to say about their clutch, but they don't have a lot of seat time with it.
Here's something you don't see everyday. A review of a clutch that has been ran HARD for over 3 yrs on the street, the track, seen over 600rwtq with heads/cam/nitrous, slipped to get off the line with bolt-ons, nittos, and 3.42 gears, and pounded on the street more times than I care to think about.
The outcome? FLAWLESS! I installed the original OZ700 in March of 06, and pulled it out this April. The clutch never once slipped unless I slipped it via the clutch pedal for whatever my reason. It never blinked an eye during the 3 yrs and ~25k, and the last time it was in action, it was pulling the tires and giving my full weight heads/cam car 1.5 60 fts.
TEXtralia says the clutch disk should measure ~.314 new, and is at the service limit at ~.267. Mine measures in at .292 currently, meaning it's only worn .022 of the ~.047 that they list. That's less than half!
Needless to say I didn't pull this clutch out to check it, or cause it was having issues. A new setup is in the works and this was a perfect time to check out how it was holding up. I will simply clean the flywheel and pressure plate and re-install when the time comes.

Yes, it is quite impressive on just how good it looks with the miles and use it has seen. Your right, I know how to drive a performance clutch, and that's not like the typical mustang owners around here that rev and slip, rev and slip as they take off or inch along the drive through trying to look "cool".
No clutch will look brand new after some use. There will be discoloring from heat and the friction material will look a bit glazed over when compared to new, but don't let that fool you.

I ordered the same clutch about a year ago. I finally got back from Korea about 3 months ago and finally got to install it. So far it is holding up great, never slips unless I want it to. It took a lot of breaking in though but after about a month, it is so smooth and grips amazing. I got mine from BYUNSPEED, they have great customer service too.

Mine has been working great for the past 25k miles, lots of slipping launches on nittos as well as 6500 rpm clutch dumps on slicks. It's just not disengaging at high RPM's now ever since the cam swap and I think its only because the stock master cylinder isnt up to the task. Doesn't slip at all though and is easy to drive in LA traffic. I cant complain

Ditto! Helps me feel good about the same choice of clutch I made 2 years and 15,000 miles ago!
I certainly did! Had a real hard time shifting at high rpms with the stock master (with drill mod) !
After a month of the BS, we installed the RAM adjustable master (will drill mod), got it just right, and I can shift at any RPM now.
