What clutch for heavy street car with 1000rwhp?
#3
Big, what kind of torque are you going to make? Assuming that it will be in line with your HP I would suggest our SC09PT. This unit is rated to 1395lb.-ft. at the crank and would be the minimum that I would recommend. You could also run the SC09ST which is rated to 1595lb.-ft. Let me know if you have any questions and I will be happy to assist you further. Thanks,

well i am happy to say I have proven the McLeod Street Twin works....3600#, and a 9.08 ET. it is over 900 rwhp regardless. you can have 2000 rwhp, if you don't put a real load on it nothing should ever fail except your tire warranty

i would go the mcleod route as well..........don't even bother with SPEC's stuff (their customer service is far from what it should be)

Speed, thanks for the support...keep me posted as the season progresses!
Cool, it seems that posts like this from you are becoming the norm, yet, I have offered to assist you with any issues or questions you may have, and thus far you haven't taken me up on it. The interesting thing is that in another post of yours you indicate that you aren't even using our clutch. That being said, let me know if you need some assistance and I will be happy discuss things with you.

To be clear, I've been dealing with a couple (two) spec products lately, i think that was in the other post you mentioned. I got the McLeod setup for one car and still waiting on spec to do the right thing for the other car. I wanted a car that works, if I relied on spec "standard answer customer service program" I would not have either car in the near future. I understand spec must troubleshoot based on "standard" problems for an improper functioning setup, but it seems that is mostly what spec focuses on, in my experience the clutch is rarely or never to blame, its mostly hydraulics or installation error where the blame is placed.

Cool, is the clutch you reference out of the car? If so have you contacted us for an RMA? Have you checked the stack height of the assembly, Our LS1 assembly has a stack height of 3.120". What does your assembly (clutch and flywheel bolted to together, measured from the mounting surface on the back of the flywheel where it seats to the crank to the diaphragm finger peak) measure out to? Let me know as I am trying to assist you...as I have been in your other post!
