Default Question about reverse.

Well for starters I just got the car running a couple days ago and I swapped in a T56. It has a Ram PowerGrip clutch with a stock master and slave. It also has a B&M ripper shifter. I took it on a maiden voyage today and after it seemed to warm up it was hard to keep it in reverse. It would shift up but would not click into gear. I don't have the reverse lockout solenoid hooked up, but it was not a problem when the car first started and was testing it in the driveway. The forward gears are fine. But when the car was shut off, I could get it into reverse with little issue. Any ideas?

Thanks everyone!

Same thing today, reverse was a little finiky, but I just gave a good shove and it popped right in. I think its gotta be that lock-out solenoid. There is no grinding at all.

Well as the name implies on that it locks you from Reverse..putting it on won't make a difference as long as it's hooked up.

My guess would be a Key in that Slider..or the Synchro.

The plunger is always extended with to voltage, preventing reverse. Simple way to check, remove the solenoid. Then see if it does it. But I agree with merv, it's most likely an internal issue.

When the PCM grounds it out it retracts..it's supposed to do that at 3mph if everything is working right.

I just hope it isn't an internal issue!! I paid close to a grand for the damn tranny. Plus I REALLY don't wanna take it apart, since I just got it back together lol.

It's just weird to me how it was perfectly fine when I was first driving the car. Oh well, it is what it is. I hope this can be solved with the reverse lock-out. Thanks for the input. Post up more if you have any ideas.

Thanks!

Sometimes it's like that..mine was perfectly fine till I missed 5th and shoved it over in the Reverse Gate at a high speed.. yea Reverse was fcked after that..lol

I re-built it and it's fine now.

I think it's a Key issue.

Ok, saying that is what is wrong with the car. Approximately how much would I be looking at to get this fixed? I'll just bring the tranny itself to a shop, not the entire car. I really don't know much about these transmissions.

Thanks!
