I just finished my t56 swap on my 2002 camaro tonight. I bleed the clutch for about 30 min and it seemed good to go I had good pressure. I went to go and it wont engage in first, third, fith, and reverse. All of the top gears. I really hope it isnt a bad tranny the guy told me it was good and it only had 16k on it. It came out of a gto. I drove it thinking mabie it would go in after it warmed up but no. No top gears. The clutch pedal did seem like it lost a little pressure while driving after about 10 min. I think i need to re bleed it. Could that be the problem or am I screwed and got a **** tranny. Please help.

on the contrary, I personally had a centerforce clutch in my car when i bought it. When i would go WOT every now and then it would lose pressure in the line until cooled off. When it lost pressure I also lost 2,4 and 6th gear. The clutch was shot, replaced it along with all new hydros and never had a problem. You could argue that it was a trans problem all you want, but in my situation...it wasn't, hence the reason for my question.

The GTO transmission comes with a different offset lever for a different style shifter by default. If this wasn't changed, installing an Fbody shifter (should have been pretty damn difficult) would likely cause these issues to arise. I'm referring to the small bracket with the plastic cup that holds the shifter ball.

Sounds like the Bump Stop on the Shifter isn't adjusted properly..that's what makes the most logical sense..no way a Tranny will block you out completely from one side.
That's just my opinion.
He means this piece here in the back..the stock ones are plastic, I put a Bronze one in mine..
That's just my opinion.

have you reflashed your computer??? I was reading on another thread somewhere, a guy did teh exact same thing (manual swap from auto), and ended being computer related. Not sure how it can lock you out of those gears, but it worked for him....
again, not 100% on that, but I did read it somewhere.....

https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthread...ht=shifter+cup I think this is the problem. Do you think that would prevent me from hitting the top gears?
