Monster stage 3.5 clutch SLIPPING!

Monster stage 3.5 clutch SLIPPING!
i recently got my trans re-built, a new clutch and got a shim (1/8" shim from speed inc) and installed it all, worked great. but now that i broke the tranny in i gave it some gas (a good hard womp) and the clutch slipped, not much but it did.
i had this clutch in my car before the tranny rebuild and it was not disengaging correctly hence the re-build.so i got a 1/8" shim for it and put it in with a new slave, now it is slipping in 6th gear on the freeway and under hard acceleration. should i just remove the shim and take my chances...or should i use a 1/16" shim?. i don't want to have to keep taking the tranny out cause it is just a pain in the @$$!
any suggestions would help, also does anybody know how far the slave actually pushes the pressure plate in?

your disengagement was probably from a worn out master cylinder and that probably would have fixed your problem...and if you installed this shim without measuring for clearance, chances are youre preloading your clutch fingers causing the clutch not to fully release....measure twice cut one always works well...takes out the guess work and costs less in the end

YUP one of the benefits of the monster setup is that they have it made to use NO shim. If you were having disengagement issues it was more than likely your master, If you have it shimmed then you are already pre-loading the pressure plate, not letting the full clamping force apply to the disc. Personally I would remove the shim, bleed the system and hope You didnt smoke the clutch. If still having problems I would replace the master, I went with a tick, it was by far the best money that I have ever spent that did not make the car a bit faster, but it sure let me get thru the gears.

I would talk to Steve, I put a Monster stage 3 in my car had a small problem with it.When I talked to Steve about it he took care of it right a way. Monster clutch Co. is real stand up Co. And backs what it sells. After my experience I wouldn't go anywhere else. The clutch is kick a$$!

I was all the way with you but I guess I missed the part about not having the tick master. I am completely with them when they say to install one with it especially being a stronger clutch.
