Angry LS7 clutch won't release?

2000 camaro ss, just installed ls7 clutch and flywheel. New slave cylinder and master cylinder. The clutch will not release enough to get in gear. Tried bleeding it for hours, no luck. Good firm clutch pedal. I removed a spec 3 clutch, and removed the shim with it. Does the ls7 clutch need this shim? Any help would be great, getting reallly tired of this car.

I just installed a LS7 and no shim was needed and it shifts fine. Do you have an adjustable M/C?

Clutch disk backward? Sounds stupid, but that might definately lock things up.

I am pretty sure the clutch disk is in correctly, the clutch does release some but not enough to keep the car from creeping foward. I have a new non adjustable master cylinder.

I mean I know this is not the answer you want, but if you cant find out the problem, and have to tear down the tranny again to re-install (inspect) parts, get the Tick performance adjustable master cylinder. Best mod I ever did with the install of my LS7 clutch.

When I installed mine I had trouble with it and it turned out to be a defective Pressure Plate, I was nervous re installing the whole assembly when I received the replacement and installed a shim just in case.

Like you I had a new MC and Slave...it pissed me off because I had to drop the tranny 3 times with no luck. I finally put the stock back and waited for the replacement.

Luckily the new one went in and functioned with no issues, great setup.

Thanks for the help. I will try to reinstall from the start one more time, then going to get the adjustable m/c.
