Default FLT or Tick for an Fbody T56 rebuild

Your choice and Why?

Also and maybe it's best to have FLT answer, but it's an open question; why is FLT top T56 package $1k more than Ticks? I am not asking to belittle any shop or start a fan-boy war, i just don't know enough about tranys to see the $1K difference. And please don't tell me it is just preference! There is no such thing as a $1k preference when the item is on the SAME level.

I vote Tick because I have dealt with them before and they are great guys with a great reputation.

Since you can't discuss non-Sponsors on the forum, your poll is useless and flawed...

Well apparently someone pissed in your Fruit Loops little man... Please explain, with all your infinite wisdom, on how my poll is useless and flawed.

Where at any point in my post or poll did I state that a member break a forum rule and discuss builders that are not sponsors, or are you telling me that Tick and FLT are the ONLY builders for T56's on the forum? And even if that IS the case, please tell how the poll is useless when included are 2 other options that are sponsors and which, without a doubt, will aid someone in their choice of shops.

Yeah, FLT is a sponsor here, no rules have been broken. And it's a good question what that extra thousand gets you from FLT.

I'm like you, I don't know who pissed in his cheerios but I thought it was a great question. I'm local to FLT and would love to support them since I have talked to them before and even went on a shop tour which was great! but for the 1k I could save I could use it to pay for the Ported LSXR Intake I'm going to need.

I can't wait for someone from both shops to chime in.

Your poll has an option for "other". Why not just list all the sponsors that rebuild T56s and not leave the window open for non-sponsor suggestions that violate forum rules?

I'm not all-knowing, I just know how to rebuild my own T56s..

Other. Not to take ANYTHING away from FLT, or Tick, Ive never heard anything bad about either, just putting up my personal experience. Hell if i wasnt in a time crunch when i needed my 4L60e, id probably have an FLT unit now.

My vote goes to RPM Transmissions. They arent a vendor here, but they are available through Vengeance Racing. Ive been running their Level V T56 since 06, and dont have a single complaint! And their customer service is incredible!!

I used FLT back in the day before it was FLT and they were an in house deal with FLP. I had Chuck build me a level 4 4L60E and that thing was absolutely awesome. That experience alone makes me want to get my T-56 built by Chuck.

But, I would like to know what that extra $1k gets you from FLT.

Yeah, that's a lot of money for what seems to be the same level build trans. I hope both shops come in to say Hi.

I say FLT. I run their "viper built" t56 and its has held one hell of a beating. But then again I am partial. Never used the other maker.

I listed "OTHER" because, one - I don't know what other sponsors do builds, and two - That would have made for a LONG list.

Yeah I thought that someone from either Co. would have seen this by now and chimed in, especially FLT with an answer to the burning question.

Default Flt

I just had Chuck and the Guys at FLT do my T56, and in my opinion they are the Best of the Best, my trans turned out awesome, and they are great guys to deal with. They will tell you straight up how it is, and recommend the proper build. They are the only shop I would have build my trans.

Thanks again to Chuck, Vince and the guys at FLT.

For an extra $960 we could have your gears cryo'ed, REM polished, have the case powerder coated, and install new bearings.

I feel that we stand behind our transmission above and beyond what anyone else out there offers. I personally build every transmission that leaves our shop and I know that every detail concearning the build from pressing the bearing races in completely to checking the endplay on the main, cluster, and cluster extension is done and done right.
