skip shift receptical on the tranny? I successfully disabled skip shift using the 1/2 watt resistor from radio shack, but I am unsatisfied with just covering the empty receptical on the tranny with electrical tape, I don't think that will hold well. Do they make plugs that fit well into that type of thing, or do I have to buy the overpriced skip shift kits?

I am satisfied with the job I did covering the now unplugged wire loom.

I just did mine with the Radio Shack resistor too($.99 for a 5 pack.) I pulled the rubber seal off the connector on the harness side and filled it with some silicone. When it was dry I put it in the empty receptical on the tranny then taped the crap out of it. Does that make sense? I didn't like the idea of just tape over the hole.

Ok, I gotcha, that sounds like a great idea. Thanks a lot. I am going to try that this week. I HATE the idea of just tape over the hole.

Why???
You think you Might want to hook the skip shift up again?
Besides there is no power to it , so corrosion is not a problem.

I read somewhere that if dirt/water gets into the hole it will set a code. If that is not true, then I won't worry about it. Anyone know for sure?

Another option is to just leave the cable plugged in, then use LS1edit to disable the skip shift function.
