billet 18lb flywheel

I wouldn't trust this flywheel. Please correct me if I'm wrong (Monster) BUT I believe it is comprised of a nickel-steel, which is a 2xxx. I would never ever use this low of a quality of steel on such a thin flywheel. You would just be asking for it to overheat. This is why I use a 4140 chromoly flywheel with my clutch kits. I've found that it requires a high-carbon, low alloy steel to resist heat to the point that it will not warp with such a thin, lightweight flywheel. Anything less, and you will see heat discoloration on the back side of the flywheel.

I wouldnt recommend either one of them. the 28lb one is 5 lbs heavier than stock, which decreases power transfer efficeieny. I use the 15.5lb chromoly flywheel in my kits. See www.diamondclutch.com

Our flywheels are made from 1045 billet steel that is heat treated and machined here in the USA, we stopped using chromoly for many reasons. Also, our flywheels are not thin, they are at least .315 thick in the places that have the friction material contacting.
Perhaps you should allow the manufacturer to answer questions about their products and not put your incorrect .02 in.

An increase in 5lbs of MOI actually decreases 60ft times without taking away from performance. Lighter isn't always better.
