Shifter question

Shifter question
OK, there seem to be a lot of opinions on here about which shifter is best. My question is more specific. Out of the three aftermarket shifters:
1) Hurst Billet Plus
2) B&M Ripper
3) Pro 5.0
Which has:
A) Shortest shifting throws?
B) Most firm and crisp shift?
C) Best quality?
D) Best fitment?
Any additional comments are welcome, but please try and focus on the main questions at hand, thanks.

Good luck with this one.
Not that many people have tried them all. So your comparisons will be tough.
I have never even heard of the hurst billet plus.
I can say this,
THe stock set up was ok if you weren't racing , for me anyhow.
How bout a break down.
The stock shifter is a two piece unit.
You can put a different handle and do away with the rubber damper and get a more firm and shorter throw.
The Pro 5.0 is also a two piece unit. you can put a few different handles on this one too, I see Lou's short stick for one.
The B&M ripper is a one piece unit. It seems a bit shorter than stock. But solid as hell.
The feel is solid , the shifts are solid and crisp. and you dont' have any bolts that can back out on you. It bolted right up and with the washers they give you , you can shift the whole thing forward or back.
I like the Ripper , but I will tell you one Little thing I don't like. When going into reverse the shifter hits the console a little.

I put my vote in for the Hurst Billet Plus.
Slightly shorter throw (Lous short stick available), Adjustable centering spring tension. Great quality though slightly Notchy at times. More vibration than the stock or factory Hurst. But the trade off is a more positive feel.
Can't go wrong with a company thats been building Shifters for almost 50 yrs. JMO

if you've got a hurst factory shifter, don't waste your time, money, or effort with an aftermarket shifter like the 5 or the b/m. buy yourself a shorter stick (lou's - $50, or jarrod's - $25) and install it within minutes. you'll not find a better shifter for any price.

Hurst with lou's makes very little noise unlike other shifters and feels great

I just bought the Pro 5.0 to replace my factory Hurst. Big mistake. The Pro 5.0 feels a heavier and the shifts stop firmer due to the stop bolts however the throw is no shorter, the shifts overall are not firmer and the thing makes a ton of noise. Im taking it out after only 300 miles to go with the Hurst-short stick setup. If you want my Pro 5.0 I'd let it go for $120 + shipping. PM me. Good luck.

I have a B&M Ripper. I love it. The throws are a good bit shorter. But the best part of it in my opinion is how solid the feel is. I love throwing the hell out of shifts. The ripper is a great shifter. Almost all the people I know where I live with f-bodies get the ripper. A couple of guys got hurst, then switched to the ripper. As far as quality, I have really not heard any bad reviews from people with the ripper. As soon as you shift for the first time, you can tell the strength of the ripper. I love it. But that is just my opinion.
