Default Flywheel need replaced when doing clutch??

I got on alldata to get some torque specs and info and it says when replacing the clutch the flywheel needs to be replaced. Is this true?? Or can the flywheel be resurfaced?? I have a really bad shutter when taking off from first gear so I was thinking the flywheel is warped.

Take it to get resurfaced. The shop will tell you if its warped or not. dont need to go get a brand new one unless you go for a lighter one!

i would suggest to just replace it. autozone has one for $60 or so with core exchange, so it's pretty cheap.

Just call and have it resurfaced. I have never had to replace a flywheel on any of my previous cars when doing a clutch swap, just resurface it unless you want to go for a light weight one in which case don't go with autozone.

the only way it cannot be resurfaced is if it is cracked. if it is warped the resurfacing will take care of it.

The stock flywheel can be resurfaced and I suggest that you remove no more than .015". If it requires that you remove more to achieve flatness then you should buy a new flywheel. We offer both Billet Steel and Billet Aluminum flywheels for this application and I would be more than happy to assist you if you need a new one or have other questions about resurfacing the existing wheel. Just let me know. Thanks,
