Default Rattling Pro 5.0 w/MBA **** and Lou's Short Stick.

I have checked all the fasteners, etc, **** is screwed on tight, too. When I accelerate hard I get a very loud rattling/vibration from the entire shifter.

Anyone else have this problem?

All gears, it's not the tranny . I can feel it in the shifter vibrating. I guess I just need to dampen it.

Levi, I had a vibration/rattle problem too. I went to napa and bought some gasket material and cut a gasket to fit around the base. The vibration/rattle is now gone.

Put electrical tape or duck tape around the base where the stick and base are bolted together. It wont reduce it all the way but it helps.

I have the same problem, in all gears, but the shifter itself does not shake or vibrate at all. I put blue gasket sealent aroung the base where it bolts to the tranny though. Think maybe I didn't put enough?

Mine does the same thing, I thought it was because of my poly trans mount.

I have a poly transmount, too. However, it didn't do this when I had the stock plastic shift **** on the shifter.

The only thing I would be worried about is if something was breaking in the transmission or something, I can live with the vibrations.

All the Pro 5.0s do it. You can solve some of it by backing off the stops. The tranny has built in stops, and you'll mixed feelings on whether or not to do it. I backed mine out just far enough, I used RTV at the base. But I still get vibrations at high rpms in all gears. I think I'll try the gasket mod...

I did the gasket mod, and it cut down on the rattling a little, but not completely. It now only rattles in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, and only at higher RPM's. I think I will try the adj. stop method BAD *** TA WS6 mentioned, and I was wondering: does anyone think it could be in the handle itself?! Mine is tight, but it might not hurt to use a really thin gasket paper and make a gasket to go between the shifter and the stick itself, where the two bolts are. Justa thought.
