Ok im confused. Everyone has told me that the new slave PN is 12565145. I called the dealer to ask for the 01-02 slavfe cylinder and they sent me a 15046288. When I called tham back they could only tell me that 12565145 has been discontinued, and that this one is the only one available. They did not know which was older or newer, but this one is definatly more expensive!

I would like to know this also. I will be needing to upgrade my hydralics when I purchase a new clutch.

Those two #'s have been around for awhile... Here's some info... #15046288 was the original slave for 98-00 f-bodies(M6) & 96-present fullsize pick-ups with the MG5 trans... #12565145 was used on the 01-02 f-bodies(M6)... Very recently GM has superceded 12565145 to 15046288 which is now the only slave for the 98-02 f-bodies. And yes the original 15046288 is higher in price.

I will get intouch w/ GM partech on Monday to find out exactly.... More than likely they just upgradded the design & rather than have two different part #'s, they are just using one.

Awesome I'd be very happy to know that they upgraded, as opposed to making the better part unavailable.

My understanding of this (being as I just went through this myself) is that GM is only using one model part now and that's the new one. The new part number covers all of the requests for replacement slaves regardless of year the part is going in...pre 2001 or not.

I second this. I went through this 6 months ago. The old slave model has been discontinued and the new slave 01-02 is replacing it. This slave is an upgraded version and will meet both needs.

I talked to GM partech today & they informed me that part#12565145 was discontinued March 03' & that they will be sold until all remaining stock is gone.. I also ask if anything has been upgradded to part#15046288 since there has been problems w/ them & he told me that the female cupling on the slave had been revised... You can still get the 12565145, but in time it will eventually phase out of stock, then the REVISED 15046288 will be the only slave offered from GM. Hope this helps you guys out.
