Default Can you buy ONLY a LS7 pressure plate?

I have the part number for the LS7 pressure plate/clutch combo, but curious if you can only order a new pressure plate?

I have less than 500 miles on my LS7 clutch, and I think the SAC pressure plate is out of whack..Would I be better off buying a new pressure plate/clutch deal and throwing it on, or can I get away with just the pressure plate.

Reason for needing this is that the clutch was broken in with a Tick Master cylinder, but when I changed it out to a new stock master cylinder, I can't get it in gear under WOT any more..So my options are to either install another Tick Master(which I refuse to do) or get a new pressure plate. What do you guys think?

Why do you not like the Tick units?

if thats your car in your sig, it looks like you have a nasty set up. im not sure why you run a LS7 clutch on any car making over 350rwhp. The LS7 i had would slip bad when i made 400rwhp

IMHO it doesn't belong in a street car(please dont start an argument of what a street car means)..My previous F-body was more of a street/strip car and I got tired of that after a couple of years. I wanted my new car to be more streetable, thats why I avoided getting a clutch that chatters.
I chose the Tick Master because everyone on this forum loves it. but with the Tick Master my clutch felt more like an on/off switch. I was really surprised after the first drive, because not many people on here reported that the tick master felt like that. The car was still drivable, I just didn't like how it felt.. Everyone that drove my car said the same thing..It drives real weird. It did feel a little firmer than stock, but that wasn't the issue. I wanted to like it, but I couldn't. Then when it broke and it had to come out, it was my chance to "downgrade" to a new stock master. I sent it back to Tick and they fixed it free of charge. They do have a real good warranty on these units, so thats always good.

But I am not trying to sway anyone from buying one, thats not the point of this post. I know that everyone else on this board loves the Tick Master. The point of this post is more about the LS7 pressure plate Anyone know? thanks!

The car in my sig is my previous car..Over 800rwhp and over 900ftlbs torque..But that was a TH400 car. Current car is a basic heads/cam package. I have been meaning to update my sig lol.

the z06 puts down like 450 rwhp so I'm not sure what you're saying is entirely accurate.

Z06s weigh less. The LS7 clutch is a great stock replacement. Imho if you race/beat on your car, there are a lot of other clutches that are "smooth" and hold more power.

I chose the LS7 because I was going for a clutch that felt like stock. If I knew about its self adjusting pressure plate I probably would of considered other options...
Probably the Diamond or Monster, either stage 1 or 2 clutches.

And I think the LS7 can easily hold 400rwhp in an F-body. My buddy was pushing the limits with his LS7 clutch..Never slipped. He had one in his 01 Z06 with 620rwhp..Yes yes I know they weight less.

i guess my bad experience makes me not suggest the clutch.
my stock clutch held 600rwtq and never slipped, i put in a new motor and the LS7 couldnt hold 390rwtq. Maybe im just bitter

I'm pretty sure that you can just "readjust" the pressure plate. It'll require removing the trans. But once you reset it, it should adjust itself the way it would have if you were using that master to start with. Try searching some of the "does my clutch need a shim" posts. I think that is where i saw it. Good luck

Right. I have read post where some people were able to successfully reset the LS7 pressure plates, while others couldn't. Seeing that I dont have my own lift and will have to beg a buddy with a shop to use his, id rather not have to make it a trial error type of thing. I would rather just throw a new pressure plate in there.

I see where your coming from with that. Although I think if you reset it and set your slave to pressure plate distance correctly, you would be all set. I don't know the part # though, sorry and good luck with it.

Not sure if you can buy just the pressure plate - I got mine as a kit with the LS2 flywheel. On a side note, if you are still looking for one in a week or so, I will have mine out. Currently changing clutches as I just added a Tick master cylinder to my LS7 clutch that already had ~3k miles on it and was broken in with a LS1 factory master cylinder. Needless to say, the two parts aren't working together lol.

I probably wouldn't want to put a 3,000 mile pressure plate to use with my less than 500 mile clutch..But if you want a 500 mile LS7 pressure plate, you have that lol.
