Best Shifter?

it's all personal preference, no one can tell you what you'll like best
some people like a strong centering spring, some don't. some want quiet, some don't care. some like a long smooth throw for leverage, some like super short. some like stick angled towards driver, some don't. some want adjustable stops, some don't.
best thing to do is find people in your area and try them out

Like was said, its all personal preference. There is no 'best' shifter.
Ive driven cars with:
Pro 5.0 w/Lou's short stick (angled towards driver)
B&M Ripper
Stock Hurst/Stock Stick
Stock Hurst/WS6Store 6" stick
Out of all of them, the Pro 5.0 and the Stock Hurst/WS6Store sticks felt the best. I was using the stock crappy nylon bushing in all of them, but they shifted well. The Ripper felt ok, just seemed like the stick was too long, and the throw was as well.

I have an MGW and love it. Drove my buddies GTO with B&M ripper and he hates it, I hated it... Only two aftermarkets I have experienced in these cars
IMO I would try and go to a local meet and ask who has what and try em out...
He tracks his car and I will also that is why I chose the MGW mostly for the centering springs. If you are just a DD I would save the $$ just get the ws6 short stick and maybe a nice ****.

MGW. I have never used any other aftermarket shifter but I don't really want to. The MGW is perfect in every way. The centering springs are ridiculous, it's very precise, a little quieter than the stock hurst shifter, and is just a very high quality piece all around. I mean it definitely requires some strength to throw it around but it just feels so nice. I went with the gripper shift **** they have with the 1-6 shift pattern on top and I think it looks awesome. It's like it knows what gear I want to go in, I don't even have to think about it anymore I just push the shifter up and pull it back. I have never missed a gear with the MGW, and it happened to me often with the stock shifter.

Preferance is the problem...I run an aftermarket Hurst short throw that I cut an extra ~3/4" from the stick because I like it lower. I love it, very easy to down shift and find all of the gears and feels natural. My car is pretty loud so I honestly couldn't tell you if the shifter is loud. I really like though, it's the 2nd Hurst I've used (I used to have a V6
) but the Hurst was great in that too!

MGW builds a very nice shifter! I'm an old Pro 5.0 guy since I've been selling them for years now but had customers complain here and there about additional noise after installing one.
