Default Best bang for the buck t56 and clutch for 500rwhp at 2800lbs?

What is the best deal for a t56 that will be going behind my turbo 5.3 in a 2wd s10 that won't see much track time and traction for that matter. And also which clutch would you all recommend? I'm thinking ls7. Btw the rwhp goal is 500.

I would not use the LS7 clutch for any app at 500rwhp.. If you launch and hook at all (a tthe track or not) it will likely slip. A Monster stage 3 or a Ram Twin disc will easily hold the power..

What about the transmission? Anything special I need to do to it? And the reason I would like to use the ls7 clutch is so I have a transmission and rearend cushion.

A clutch that can't hold the power you're making is not a good way to save the rear end.
Your race weight is really light, so you're going to put a lot less stress on parts. The trans will hold up fine as is. Get yourself a clutch that can take some heat & will allow you to slip if some off the line instead of dump it. You'll shock the drivetrain less that way.

Well at that power level and weigh would the ls7 clutch hold pretty good?

Save yourself the hassle and not get the Ls7 clutch kit. 9 out of 10 people have problems after installing it and end up having to spend the extra $300 on a Tick Master and some still have issues after that. So after all said and done you are almost up to $800 not including labor or a new slave cylinder. In the end you could buy a better kit for less...

I am sure that we can help you with one of our SPEC single-disc units. Based on the info provided thus far our Stage 2 or 3 would be great! You can find a link to the parts below. Let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks,

If you want the best bang for the buck clutch our 11" ceramic kit is 629.99 with a 28lb billet flywheel, new pilot bearing, alignment tool and release bearing. Add a new slave and make it a premium kit for only $70 more. It's rated for 850 should you decide to turn up the boost, otherwise our Level 2 would hold current power. Feel free to call me if you have any questions, Chris 817-750-2000
