Default Clutch not fully disengaging

Well my stock clutch decided to let go a few weeks ago so I ordered a spec stage 2 clutch. I installd the shim they provided behind my new slave cylinder tourqued everything down to spec. Here is my problem. Clutch seems to engage and disengage right off the floor. If im driving easy the car will shift into gear fairly easy, but fast shifts are not an option. I plan on buying a TICK master cylinder next week hoping this will be able to push my aftermarket PP in farther to fix my issues. Has anybody else had luck with this??

I installed a tick master a few years back, when ajusted properly shifts are alot better, but don,t ajust for too much travel or you could have a slippin clutch or worse.

So do you think the TICK MC will fix my symptoms?

Did you JUST put it in? My LS7 clutch was on the floor even with the Tick MC and after putting about 100 - 150 miles it got back up to where it was supposed to be and from there I fine tuned it with the Tick MC.

I had the same issue. I took it back apart and the disk was hitting pressure plate bolts. Sent it back to spec and they said nothing was wrong with it. I put it back in and made sure it was alligned correctly and was still rubbing the bolts. I removed and throught the bitch in the scrap pile. Will never buy another one.

Wow well hopefully my 300 bucks toward the tick mc is worth it. It's rediculous aftermarket clutches requiring us to use shimes.

I'm having the same problem with a Spec Stg 2+. It engages and disengages right at the floor. I have replaced the slave, and installed an adjustable master. It got a little better after adjusting, but it's still not good at all because it won't disengage enough at high rpms to shift.

This isnt sounding good for me then... Did you use the shim provided by spec? maybe I am needing to install an additional shim??? I have no idea. Hopefully the tick mc will fix it.

I used the shim. I even tried installing a second shim from the spec 3 i had in there before (which i never had a problem with). It didn't make a difference with 1 or 2 shims, which i thought was kind of weird. I'm convinced it's a clutch issue, since i've pretty much ruled out any other possibility. New slave, new adjustable master, and i can't even count how many times i've bled the system and it disengages just off the floor. The adjustable master did help a bit, as before that it wouldn't disengage at all.

Did you take measurements from Tick's instructions on if a shim is needed/how much shim is needed?

I mean the measurements on the clutch to bellhousing and slave to transmission, to see if you needed to shim the slave, and if so, how much

It specificly told me in my spec 2 instruction manual that all I needed was the shim they provided when installing the clutch, with a stock flywheel. (which I have). Currently the way my car sits, it is shifting and going into gear fairly easily untill I go into high rpm's and to shift quick. Since it's already going into gear as of now, maybe the stock MC isn't up to the challenge of pressing in my heavier duty PP? Even on ticks website they say their MC can fix this issue.
