Default viper t56 with an ssr mainshaft??

Is it a possible conversion? Does anyone know if the viper gears,sycros, etc will go on the ssr shaft?

No.

Viper == single/double cone synchros/gears
SSR == double/triple cone synchros/gears

The closest thing you could get would be a unit with C6 Z06 gears and 1 piece cluster gear in it with the SSR shaft.

and there's little strength benefit of the SSR shaft over the viper shaft, it's the gears/synchros that make the difference.

So basicly I need a c6 donor for the gears and counter and an ssr shaft? The only components from mine I can use are the housings and input?

Many of the sponsors here on ls1tech can help you if you can't DIY, others won't or will talk you into whatever they're selling.

Price a little cheaper but not really when you figure in the machine work for the low gear, the cost of the c clips and retainer washer and the VSS wheel.

The SSR option is great for those who already have a Vette/GTO/V box they want to use as a donor. If you have an F body box, going with the Viper shaft is the way I would do it.

The build thread (and PDF) was updated with later info that the low gear can be purchased if not machined, and also drastically lower costs of the retainer since it's shared with the TR6060.

Agreed.. The purpose of the hybrid was always a viper-like upgrade for the late model boxes, not as a replacement for older boxes..
