Default Tick master = success

Installed my tick master cylinder this weekend that I picked up in there group buy, and it did the trick. My car used to grind gears under hard shifts and now it's completely smooth. Takes all gears beautifully. Just gotta close my clutch engaged switch so my cruise works. Thanks Tick

Did you get the speed bleeder as well? Mines on back order, so I won't install it until that arrives.

Good to hear. And the speed bleeder is definitely worth it.

Whats this crap about engaging a switch so your cruise control can work?

I think he might mean he has to fix the switch on the clutch pedal that disengages cruise control when you depress the clutch. Might have removed it to change master cylinders.

When you install the Tick Master, the pedal doesnt sit as high as it did with the stock setup, so the switch for the cruise control isnt engaged as it should be.

Once you set up your pedal with the Tick, there is an adjustment in the switch that will move the switch closer to the pedal, and get it to work again. I had to adjust ours not too long ago, so the stupid light would go off.

dumb question.. people tell me the master cylinder has nothing to do with the clutch.. just the brakes.. How can a master cylinder change how a clutch performs?

The people that tell you that dont know how a hydraulic clutch works..

There is a BRAKE Master Cylinder, AND a CLUTCH Master Cylinder on our cars. The Tick is a Clutch Master.

I believe the Tick unit is a great unit but, they should of figured out how to get their unit to place the clutch pedal into the stock position ajacent to the brake.
I for one do not want any pedal except the gas pedal being any different in height.

Yes nvr said it right about adjusting the switch. ANd nowhere man, I adjusted my pedal to where it's the same length as the brake padel and completely disengages my clutch

Our pedal is set about 1/2" lower than the brake pedal, after doing the rev test to ensure its fully disengaging.

you could use a 3/4" bore Tilton instead of the 7/8" one so the pedal isn't any shorter than stock, but you're not pushing much more fluid unless you adjust it out a hair. or you could use the 7/8" and add some material to the clutch stop so that you're starting the pedal higher (like stock) and ending sooner rather than starting lower and ending at the stock stop.

it's really not hard to get used to, and you could always add a small pedal extension pad like people do for road racing so you can heal toe easier if it bothers you that much

We shall see.
It just bothers me as an engineer that someone would overlook this aspect in the design.

I'm replacing the 7/8" one this week with a 13/16" because my pedal is just way too stiff, so I'll post back where my pedal sits, firmness and pedal height should be right between stock and where they are now hopefully.
