Default A few Q's about a m6

I have a 00 Z28 m6 and I was wondering how much power a stock tranny can hold? And I can hear a little whining in 1st gear should I be worried? It drives fine, so I don't know.

Man, Dont drive yourself crazy with every little noise. The stock tranny is very strong and very well designed. My only advice, put a good aftermarket shifter on it( I have the B&M Ripper) and if you race it dont flat-shift it. Enjoy and relax

Don't flat-shift? What exactly is flat-shifting? I have an M6 with a B&M ripper too.

Rob Raymer is putting like 900 hp to his without upgrades.

Doesn't sound like you're anywhere close to that.

Flat shifting is putting the gas to the floor and not lifting til you go thru the traps!

DAMN!!!! But when you try to throw it in second when you're already at 5700+ rpm on first, if you even touch the clutch to shift into second, the rpm is going to go through the roof if you have the gas pedal to the floor!! How do you do it?

Default Advertised power rating

Borg Warner advertises that the M6 is only capable of holding 450 ft./lbs. but obviously that's a little derated.

As far as whining noise, get used to it...especially when you rebuild it with new bearings.
