Default Stronger t56

I'm rebuilding my T56 and need to know what the weak point of the trans will be when launching. I'm gonna be running 315 drag radials. I plan on doing brass **** fork pads, and Billet keys. What else do you guys recommend.

Complete rebuild kit with new seals, bearings, carbon blocker rings, new synchros, billet keys, bronze fork pads, and a steel 3/4 shift fork. You probably want to install a 30/31 spline output shaft at that point too!

Unless you are doing the work yourself you won't be far away from the price of a new T56 Magnum transmission.

You're going to need an upgraded 2nd gear as well if its for that Lt1 car.

The grooves for the reluctor ring clips are where the mainshaft will tend to break. A 30 or 31 spline mainshaft upgrade might make sense.

That looks like the later 2nd gear. Hard to tell from that angle but the teeth look like the longer ones.

No they will be fine. The older gear likes to pop the small teeth off.

ok thats the 2nd to worst looking one 5th is a little worse but its going in a drag car that may get driven on the street rarely but i probably wont use 5th much it had grinding problems in 3 and 4th and 5th wouldnt go into gear but all the shift fork pads were missing and the syncro detents were almost all broken i think that was the problem. also 3 pieces were chipped off the 5-6 gear cluster im thinking about running it i dont plan on doing pulls past 4th the only time ill use 5th is if im out cruising and ill just take it easy or use 6th
