Default dropped socket in bellhousing

Ok so im an idiot and dropped a socket in my bell housing im running rwally late to meet my dad, I already have my car jacked up and do not want to pull the transmission to get it out, if there is any way some obe could call me and explain what I need to do you would make my year

Pen magnet will get it out easily.

I was afraid I would do the same I ended up taping the socket to my 1/4 drive ratchet worked pretty slick.

I had taped mine as well but the tape was pretty old and I was in a rush so one bad choice led to another, so far I have drilled a hole in the floor pan and tonight I will be trying to fish it out with a pen magnet.

drill a big enough hole in the bottom to get it out. It won't hurt a thing.

You mean in the floor pan right? Haha just wanting to make sure because I already have about an inch and a half hole that I think will be big enough to work out for me

Merry Christmas to me hahaha retractable magnet ftw, it took about 10 minutes but I finally got the socket out. Pulled the starter just like Studderin said and it worked like a champ. I really appreciate all the info and help guys really made my christmas
