Default Spec Clutch fits completly wrong??

I bought this clutch off of ebay 6 months ago.
Pretty much in the description it said it had low miles (2k ish)
And his wife didnt like it.
Said it was for a ls1 and it was a spec stage 4.
I pulled the transmission out of my ls1 swapped 240sx drift car to replace it
I had the flywheel resurfaced, then went to install the clutch and it wont bolt down all the way. Its almost like its made for a recessed flywheel??
Take a loook at these pics and let me know what you think?
Idk what to do. Not sure if it requires its own special flywheel?

I had the bolts tightened all the way, and it was a pain to get them started it the first place, by the time i got them tightened it keep pushing in the clutch fingers so there is no way to even release the clutch....

Thanks for any help

is the clutch disk facing the correct way?

doesn't look like an ls2 flywheel or anything

also looks like the dowel pins are lining up but some aftermarket clutches don't have provisions for them, they're not hanging up are they?

Is it me or does that pressure plate look like it's an LS2/7 painted blue? If thats the case, the LS2/7 style clutct needs a recessed flywheel. It doesn't look like a Spec pressure plate to me. I can't tell if the disc is Spec or not. Hopefully Spec01 will comment and shed some light on your problem.

Thats what I thought at first too. As far as I know, only GM uses that auto adjust feature with those yellow springs. Look on the PP housing for a stamping of the mfg. If it says LUK anywhere, you got hosed.

Maybe they gave you a Spec clutch disc and an LS7 PP?

Well you can tell where it used to say LUK on it, but they grinded it off, painted it, stuck a spec sticker on it, and then gave me a different clutch disk.

****. Thanks for all the info guys!
Not sure what i should do, now, is the ls2 pressure plate any better then the stock ls1 one?

Any recommendations on a good clutch for drifting?

Default Open a Case

I would take pictures of the PP with the LUK etch'd out and take pictures of a SPEC PP and the GM one and open a Case with Paypal, if thats the route you went for payment. I remember when I bought a set of ls6 "PORTED" heads with upgraded springs. My crap showed up in the mail as 243 casting with 0 port work done and factory springs. Ended up getting my money back with paypal. The guy that sent them out refused to pay me back. I ended up getting the PRC 2.5 5.3L Heads. So happy now. As for your clutch, get a monster.

Thank you guys for all the information.
I am currently in talks with the seller.
We will see where this goes, he said he bought it off of ls1 tech from another guy and never installed it...

That is an LS7 SAC-type plate that requires the use of a stock-like recessed flywheel. It simply will not work with a flat-LS1 type flywheel. Let me know if you need any help with this relative to your claim with the seller. Thanks!

Wow, crappy deal man. Hopefully the seller is honest but sounds like PayPal might be sorting it out.
