i just installed my new MGW shifter and wow!!!!! i had the pro 5.0 and this thing is all over it. Very smooth and easy shifting without all the rachety loud shifts. if your considering a new shifter go with the MGW!

Who else has switched from pro 5.0 to MGM. I didn't realize there was this much difference between aftermarket shifters. I've had two foodies. One had a ripper and the most recent with a pro 5.0. I don't see that much of a difference.

Please tell us more about why the MGW is so much better than the Pro 5.0? I too have a Pro 5.0, and when I bought it, it was the ****!

Does anyone know if Pro 5.0 is even still in business??
I am saving up for the MGW despite the road race peeps not trusting it's strength capabilities.

Shifting and "feel" is one of those things you can't just type and describe. You'd just have to feel it.

Have you ever driven a car with an MGW? Not being a smart ***, simply asking. It's a night and day difference. I highly encourage you to give it a whirl and come back and tell us.

Wife ordered mine from MGW directly. I'm not even sure if any vendors themselves stock them.
My comment wasn't meant to be taken sny in any way shape or form, and if it came out that way, my apologies. Before I settled on the MGW I did drive a few friends cars, one being a Pro 5.0 and the other a Hurst Billet Plus. To be honest, I liked the Hurst more, as the 5.0 seemed too knotchy.

I haven't driven a pro 5.0 car but I must say the mgw I have now is a much nicer shifter than my b&m or stocker that I've driven ever were. I have shifted a pro 5.0 car a few times and from the little bit that I did I can say that the mgw does feel smoother and overall more solid than the pro 5.0 did. And also going factory direct is the only way to get the shifter but I promise you wont be disappointed.

Because of that, they all seem to prefer the B&M since it's handle is a DIRECT, ONE PIECE connection to the shift rod, hence, less stress points, or junctions to break, or loosen up.
You have to remember that we are talking about people who POUND on their shifters for sometimes HOURS on end, without breaks in between 8-12 second blasts (like in drag/street racing, which is what most on here are doing, ONLY on nice weekends in the summer) almost every weekend of the year.
THAT being said, very few of them have yet tried an MGW in those conditions to give an honest, un-biased, objective review/opinion of how the MGWs would hold up.

Me about 2 years ago right when they came out. The MGW felt awesome in the 08+ Vipers, figured it would be just as good in an Fbody. I've had one miss shift from 4th to 3rd but caught it fast. Other then that, smooth as butter
