I have had two Monster stage threes. The first one I took my time and made sure to follow the recommended method. The second one I drove it for a probably 50 miles in stop and go traffic and then gave it hell. No issues ever came of it.

You can go to red line with it. Just don't over heat it by slipping it at all. Stick to the city driving. No hard shifting or anything. It's important to properly bed the disk material to the PP and flywheel.

Proper break-in determines the driving characteristics throughout the life of the clutch. We recommend stop and go driving for 500 miles for a reason.

I just finished installing my monster stg 3 as well along with light weight flywheel. I've noticed a definate increase in pedal pressure(not unbearable). My take off in 1st is a little rough so I'm not sure if its juat the clutch breaking in or me not used to the clutch. Also has anyone noticed they're car seemingly quicker with installing the lighter weight flywheel. Mine seems like it just wants to go and it takes less gas to get it going.

That's awesome man. I've got another 100 to go on mine then I'm gonna take a trip to the local drag strip and see what she'll do. I'm just a little weary of launching to hard on that weak fbody 10 bolt....

I tried to do as much stop and go driving as I could, but my "break in" miles were mostly highway. Probably 150 complete actual city miles, the rest highway, but I did try and use the clutch as much as possible during the period. My Level 3 has held my 10 bolt fine (upgrading to a 9" this weekend however), and I beat the **** out of it recently as soon as I felt I got it broken in.

I guess time will tell how its going to hold up. The car only had 108k on it and I don't think its been driven really hard in that time so I would think it should last a little while.

Go with a stage 5 monster, ***** the break in period idk how many miles I had on my stage 5 disk before my input shaft effed everything up. But the disk itself had hardly any wear on it after countless hard driven miles with 0 break in period.

the way i see it, if the break in wont hurt your car, its free, its recomended by those who make the product, its not difficult, why not just do it?

Youll have plenty of time to race later on.

well when people drive their cars 1-2 times a week just around town like i do and it sits in garage mostly it takes a while to get those miles on it
