Default Tranny weirdness??

I have an 01 ws6 m6, and recently it's been getting real hard to put it in reverse. 1st gear as well. I banged it into reverse this morning and it kinda clunked real bad. Then almost to work i stopped at a yield i heard a squealing/squeaking from the tranny. Felt it in the **** somewhat. Anyone can give the .02 about what I should so..?

IDK about the squeal but I would think the issue with first and reverse would be in the hydraulics

Yeah. I really have no clue at this point. It does the squeal every now and again. It sounds like nails on a chalkboard.

I agree, sound like a clutch not releasing. I just went through this. Check the hydraulics than start looking into the clutch and the transmission.

Take a peak in the bell housing while someone depresses the clutch pedal. See if the throw out bearing is moving and depressing the pressure plate diaphragm.

How does the pedal feel? Easier to depress than it usually does? I wonder if it's the bearing making the noises.

I know it's hard to trouble shoot over the net and a goose chase, but crawl under the car and see if you see anything out of the ordinary from what appears to be the source of the noise. Check the tranny fluid, look for loose bolts etc.

That's a stock replacement clutch, what are your plans with the car power wise? The noise could be the pilot bearing has failed and that would cause it to be difficult to go into gear as well.

Im just a younger kid. Bolt on car for sure by next spring. So suspension/bolt on nice reliable daily is what I am aiming towards now, for the time being.
