Default 2002 trans am willn't shift

I have a 2002 ws6 with a 6 speed i recently had clutch start sliping so i pulled and removed the stage 1 spec clutch and aluminum flywheel that was in it and wput stock back in it then a month later the slave went out i replaced it and have had no problems till sat right i pulled out of the store and got on it. The car became extremely hard to shift the next day i went to leave and can't shift the car. With the car off it will go into all gears but when i start it i cant to anything and other then a grind every now and then when i try to shift. Anyone have any ideas?

You seem to mention replacing the slave, but you don't replacing the master. It is possible that the master is the issue. You also note installing a stock clutch, which uses an SAC-type pressure-plate. If it has miss-adjusted then it too can cause issues with clutch release. How does the pedal feel now? Is it consistent? If you put it in gear and rev the engine does the car creep forward?

all of the parts having to do with the clutch pp and flywheel were returned to stock so everything fits and is allined correctly i did go out today when i got home put the car in first and started it with no problem or lurching witch allowed me to push the car back and use that to put it back in the shed i can shift out of gear fine but with the car running i still can't shift into any gear my clutch pedal is still firm and is no leaking fluids so i am still able to use the clutch to move the car but i have to start it in gear and i cant shift useing the clutch i have to float the gears

When you release the clutch where does engagement occur relative to pedal travel?

I'm wondering if there is air in the clutch line.

the pedal comes about half way then slowly starts engaging till fully released and today i was able to kinda **** but takes alot of muscle to get it into gear and i can't shift into reverse without reving the engine alittle first. i am going to bleed the clutch in the next few days to see if that fixes the problem

Sounds like you could use more fiber in your diet...HAHA!

Let us know what result you see from bleeding the hydraulics and we can continue trouble shooting from that point forward. Thanks!

well i tried bleeding the clutch twice to day each time the line poped off the slave so i will pick that back up tomarrow now this slave didnt have the same clip inside it as the old one did and is a pain to get to clip in and it will be so tight i cant get the line lose by hand then 3 or 4 bleeds in it will pop lose alittle so i am goin to try to figure out wth is up with that so i am going to assume the air in the line is my problem. When i get it to hold and bleed out correctly if that doesnt fix my problem i will post on here the results

Spec sells an adjustable master cylinder. That is what you need. If you purchase it your problem will be solved. I had same problem. Spec shipped me one and I was back on the road.

Thanks slt200mph! We do in deed offer an OE based adjustable master-cylinder. Let's see how the bleed goes first though. There is no need to throw parts at something if they aren't needed.

I thought that he said that he had bled the thing numerous times. I bled mine a few times and still could not get it to go in gear with all new parts. Your Spec adjustable master cylinder cured the problem.

He tried bleeding it and couldn't get the bleeder to stay in place. So, he is going to try again and let us know more shortly.
