The Magnum has two bolt pattern / spacings for the mount ( Ford & GM) Just pick a two bolt mount you favor/ like. The crossmember should be located directly under the mounting pad.

What's this order nonsense? Go to a parts store. See if they have a mount for a Ford or GM vehicle. If that one fits great. Else, move onto another vehicle. All you have to match is the bolt pattern (one might be 3.75" bolt to bolt center) since you're doing the crossmember custom.
Some of the newer Mustang mounts that fit the Magnum into them has a fore-aft offset; avoid that and get one that's straight down from the bolt pattern.
The polyurethane market has a poly mount for Mustang Magnum retrofits but $50 is overpriced when the $25 one that fits a TH350 or even a $10 rubber one will probably work just fine for your purposes.

i was trying to avoid going to that "lets just order and see if it will work method" as it is very surprising to me that a tranny that is used this much has 0 info about what mounts will fit on it.i am shocked that it isnt widely known what works and does not
