Default Weird sound coming from my friends M6

I dunno how to describe it that well... so here goes

all assuming the car is moving

When not in gear, clutch out, no sound

When in gear, clutch out, the trans/shifter area seems to whine/hiss, like the syncro is being activated or something? Like if you had the clutch out, and were forcing the shifter into gear. It's like on a cold day when it's hard to get into gear type sound

When in gear, clutch in under load, in gears 1, 3, 5 it does the sound

Any ideas???

Ever since I cut my shift boot to install my pro 5.0 shifter i've had that noise. I get it noticeably in 2nd and 4th.

i installed that shifter for stoleit and i have no f'n clue what that noise could be. i don't feel like taking the 10 minutes to take it all apart again and start rtv'ing everything lol.

anyone found the cause of this yet?

i have the pro 5.0 as well but if my car is doing it no way i'd notice it. you couldnt hear that noise in my car if it were 40 times louder even.

i cut the boot, and i recommend you do the same, or call pro5.0 and ask them why.
