Pro 5.0 install Just got my Pro 5.0 in this week and was wondering how much trouble the install will be. Anyone that installed their shifter themselves, please let me know about any hang ups you encountered. Also, did you follow the instructions on www.ls1howto.com ? Thanks folks

Its pretty straight forward, and those istructions are fine. Make sure you let the rtv sit for a little bit, and be very carefull not to over torque the allen bolts that hold it in, I have heard of a few people stripping them.

it is extremley easy. take a few bolts out, pull the console, unplug wires, take boot and **** off unbolt the shifter, clean the tranny seal of old gasket. put rtv on shifter and reverse the uninstall process. take 15 minutes to do the entire thing.

most of my friends have learned that if i dont ask for something, stay out the way,cause i dont slow down for nutin.
hey mike, forgot to tell ya it took me 45 min to pull both bumper supports and put the car all back together.

Thanks for the replies guys. The shifter and Lou's shortstick should be going in during the next week or so. It should work nicely with my new 12-bolt and spec clutch.
