5 speed? Why a 5 speed? Get a 6 speed and get that good gas mileage!

sell your car and go buy another one with a M6. Much easier than switching out your trans.

You may be able to price out a T56 swap kit from Billy Graham's Auto Salvage or Contemporary Corvette. It would be the trans, crossmember, bellhousing, clutch/brake/gas pedals, flywheel, clutch and pressure plate, and all the bolts. You'd need to fabricate wiring for the reverse lights and reverse lockout for sure, maybe extend the VSS wiring.

You'll need to saw a hole in your floorpan for the shifter, and cut holes in the firewall for the clutch master cylinder and bolts.

I paid $1200 for an LT1-car T56 swap kit complete as described above, about three years ago. This was for my 3rd gen Camaro so the swap process isn't exactly identical...but it was a pain on the old car, and will be a bigger pain on your newer one. I didn't have to futz with PCM software modification, running new wires to the PCM, etc...you will.

He means that you'll have to do more work than him to swap, because you have more wiring issues with a newer car. I just finished the swap on my '01 and it's not that bad if you have basic mechanical and wiring knowledge. I swapped harnesses, trans, computer, and crossmembers with a '99 Firebird. It took about 36 hrs of work from start to finish. If you can find someone who wants to swap, go for it.

Default did you already do the conversion

I looked at your pictures on cardomain and am curious if you already did the conversion. If so I am very interested in knowing how everything went. I also live in the Chicagoland area too so any information would help.
