Car STICKS at certain RPMs?
OK, I was going down the road the other day...car was at about 2500 rpms. I depress the clutch and start coasting, but my RPMs stayed at about 1700 for probably 30 seconds before going back down! OK, if that wasn't weird enough, today I was going down the road havin a little fun and I realized that if I revved the car while my foot was on the clutch, it would come back down VERY slowly through the RPMs. Could this be a clutch problem? This happened at the track several times with my old clutch. I now have a spec 3 with 1500 miles on it. This is very odd. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I dunno if this is the problem or not but waaaay back in the day I had a 5.0 Mustang and one night I was leaving work and after a WOT run the gas pedal stuck to the floor and I had to pry it up with my toe. Next morning went out and looked at it and the throttle body was king gummmed up and sticking so I sprayed it with cleaner and fixed it.

Make sure the throttle bore & IAC are clean. The PCM does keep the rpm up to help shifting & act like a dashpot to keep motor from stalling. It's like a built in rev match, for lack of better terms. It's hard to say if it is an actuall problem over the board.
IAC's have been known to become sticky with age, but usually other complaints result also.
It sees so many RPM & MPH = a predetermained IAC command.
