I made one for mine also to get them clearance right for my throw out bearing. I measured my clutch and bearing to find it didn't have the needed clearance. But mine is not between the motor and bell.

You have to measure things to know how it effects your setup and if you need it or not. If you have enough clearance without it and you add it then I guess you could over extend your slave cylinder.

You need to measure you slave cylinder when compressed to the base that bolts to the bell housing (easiest if you remove the spring). It's easiest to measure from the back of the bell housing and then measure your clutch as installed to the fingers where the slave will press it. The slave should stick out less than the clutch leaves gap from the back of the bell housing by 1/16" to 1/8". If not then your slave will always ride the clutch even if you don't ride your clutch pedal. If you have 3/16" or more they make shims to space the slave out and this will make sure you don't over extended it.

It's some sort of silly shield for the engine. When I bought my QT BH a few years ago it came with an alloy one....which would also never actually fit if I wanted to have a flywheel bolted to the engine lol.

Although the metal did come in handy around the workshop for making various brackets for other stuff.

Oh, the gold dust cover that seals up the housing and completes the scatter shield? You don't want stuff flying in there and messing things up all though the odds are sort of low.
