Okay I see what you mean but the $3200 kit includes carbon fiber synchros ans and a bunch of other goodies as well. I guess I don’t understand how a baseline magnum is better. What makes the magnum so much more desirable just stronger gears? Honest question. I could probably get the $800 difference out of selling my t56 if I really want to even though it needs a rebuild and a direct swap instead of waiting would reduce the likeliness of lost parts (I’m bad at organizing and the procedure will be done at my friend’s shoppe).

Seriously take a read through this: http://tremec-blog.com/the-differenc...agnum-6-speed/ the big win in my book are the vastly superior synchros. Just going from paper to carbon doesn't really improve the feel or add as much strength as you could add through the magnum. I bet you can still sell your worn out t56 for like 800 which offsets the price.

Well, I'll google it again to save you all that hassle for such a difficult topic.

I'm in the same situation as you are right now, currently have my t56 at a local shop being taken apart but I will most likely just have them do a basic rebuild since I don't drag race much and only have 440 rwhp. One thing I have heard about going the tick rebuild route is sometimes they take your trans apart and then realize you need other things done and then you actually end up getting charged more then what they claim. As far as a magnum honestly if I wasn't about to be buying a house I would go with that option but unfortunately spending over 4k after having it shipped and all that is just too much for me right now.

that is an awesome artical! I want a magnum now. Especially considering I can likely sell my clapped trans for around the difference in price. Thank you all for your input I think I’m gonna start saving my pennies and try to pick up a new D&D t56 magnum just sounds like the obvious way to go at this point.
