Default Slave shim alters pedal height?

Hi,
am I over thinking this but...
The stock t56 slaves have a return spring so that when pedal is depressed the slave will only retract to tips of pressure plate fingers....correct?
So if you shim a slave it will make no difference to pedal height.....? I.e. the clutch fingers will always start moving from top of pedal height....assuming same slave diameter and master diameter and pedal pivot....
Regards

Shims have no effect on pedal height.

Maybe referring to the point where the Slave starts moving into the Pressure Plate, as in a shim will make it closer to the top of the Pedal travel.

The overall throw of the slave is the same whether it is shimmed or not. The trick is to shim the slave so the throw of the slave is where it needs to be to get the slave to fully release the clutch. Shimming will affect where in the throw of the pedal the clutch will release, but it doesn't change the physical height of the pedal.

Well then yes, shimming will affect that.

Hello, I am new to my 95 T/A, and it has a recently installed new clutch. However, and the previous owner pointed this out, the clutch engages like right off the floor, making take offs (especially with a 4.10 rear gear) VERY hard, especially if you have to get going quickly.
The clutch engages quickly, and doesn't slip, feels good, but I would like to have it engage higher up than just off the floor. What should I do or look for?

Thanks!

Bleed it more or it may need a Shim on the Slave. Could have full travel with the Slave and at the bottom of the Pedal is just enough to dis-engage the Clutch, instead of being more to the top.
