Default Where do you put the Shim for a Spec 3?

My spec 3 clutch did'nt come with instructions of any kind.

The metal shim, I"m thinking it goes between the Tranny housing and the Slave... am I right?

I kept reading about the "green" shim.. but mine did'nt come with anything green... It's just a silver piece about a 1/4" thick and it has two slots on the sides for the bolts to go through for the Slave...

The last Spec I saw installed had that metal shim instead of the regular green paper material one. This was about 3 weeks after I installed my Spec 3 with the green paper type.. I kinda wish I wouldve got the metal one.. when installing my Spec 3 I was kinda worried about the green one fatiguing over time.. unlike a metal one.

*edit*

The metal one is no where near 1/4".... not even close.

Yes it's only 1/8" thick, I checked today... Spec is closed over the weekend, so I dont know if they sent me the wrong one or not...

This clutch install is still kicking my A$$, wish I would have just got it done at a shop somewhere...

The shim that came with my SPEC stg 4 was metal and like 12ga stainless. Seems like metal is a no-brainer for what you are asking it to do. If SPEC sent a cardboard part I'd measure it then make my own outa stainless.
