Best Clutch for 700+ rwhp?
I am redoing my engine right now and when it is finished it should be in the 525 to 550 rwhp area. (408 iron block, large cam, Stage3 TEA 6.0l heads) I also shoot a tnt for a 150 to 200 shoot on occassion.
I have been an auto guy for the last 4 years but I am switching to a manual now and want to know what the best clutch will be for me..I will street drive it alot and I go to the track about every week.

I dunno Ive never had good luck with spec as well as many others on here I had one of the springs on the disc let go and I broke it in for 600 milesand it never even saw dumps over 3500rpms nor did I ever try and slip it.. and then spec said well sorry you've had it more than 4 months even though it had 1500 miles on it and the pucks werent even completely worn in yet there was still some new surface material on it I think if they believed in what they were selling they would have a longer warranty than 120 days or at least would have offered to look at it.. Just alot of people complaining about quality control with them.. How often do u see posts like "problems with my cartek or my mc cleod pretty much never... How many times do you see "Problems with my Spec Stage 3" not saying that its the worst or anything I'm just saying there are alot of people that have had problems with all their different stages and I am one of them but will still be installing a new spec disk because I dont have the funds for a completely new setiup yet

One thing for sure guys, the Mcloed did last longer than both of the SPEC 3 Carbon/Carbon i had before. The Mcleod is biting hard even after the slippage i had at the track which is amazing for any clutch for that matter. I drive it every day with no problems now and i can spin the tires in 3rd gear. The only problem i faced is that when the tires are not spining the Mcleod will be slipping.

i got the mcleod street twin in preparation for H/C N20 (550-650HP) and at 410 it has absolutely no issues what so ever. It drives pretty close to stock. It wasn't the cheapest one out there but I have no doubt it will hold like crazy even at those levels.

no, the 1k hp through the trans is what causes the wear. my clutch has never slipped and in fact never wore out i just replaced it since it made it though 2 seasons.
lots of clutches can make some pulls on the dyno at 700rw, but beat on it every weekend for a year? doubt it... mine has.
