All it does is help stop the movement of the transmission... so yes, that's pretty much all it does.

It stops the banging of the tranny against the tunnel under very hard shifting. Curded mine.

If Your Transmission Mounts Are Bad It Causes Flex During Shifts And Will Cause Wear On The Main Seal Where The Transmission Hooks Up To The Motor. Once That Seal Goes Bad It Begins To Slowly Leak Then You Lose Oil Pressure Then Its All Down Hill From There.

You have to worry about the other end as well. You will start to tear up seals in the tailshaft and start to destroy the driveshaft and rearend.

When my 1st mount was bad, I sometimes missed 1-2 shift and 2-3 shift at WOT, probably from the tranny shaking so much to where it probably throws off the gate pattern slightly. Get a polyurathane mount or an Energy Suspension mount from ls1speed.com. I changed the stocker to one from O'Reilly's and after 2 weeks it's bad, and I don't even romp on my car on a regular basis.

Dude, you need motor mounts. My shifter moved so much it wasnt funny. I put a new tranny mount in and it didnt help at all.

I put poly motor mounts in it and you can barely see the stick move at all.

I agree... I also have poly motor mounts and everything is just about stock still now. Much better than before.
