Default Toughest Tranny for Trans Am

What manual tranny would you guys use in a newer trans am with big horsepower/torque (800-900)? It has to be somewhat streetable too. thanks.

Rockland Standard Gear has one (T56)that is rated as "BULLET PROOF". Can't say what that means but you may try to call them and see what they call bullet proof? Other than that you might try and see what Jerico offers I don't think any of there race stuf has reverse though Good luck on finding somthing? Maybe someone else has some ideas.

the t-56's stock are tougher than you think. most of the problems related to them are from poor shifting or hydraulic/clutch problems.. not from tq or hp.

that being said i do have to go through mine every season i send mine to automotive services in michigan (jim mattison 1gmman@comcast.net) and am happy with the service.
