Replacing clutch on 01 Z28 w/31k miles. Change throwout bearing or not?

It's not completely necessary, but you're already there while doing the clutch swap. It's just a matter of renting the pilot bearing puller and the slide hammer from autozone. To swap it out in the future, you'd have to tear it completely back down to get to it.

You're there change it. It is part of the slave cylender kit. Cost like $125.

I agree. While youer at it replace the pilot bearing too. Better to be safe than sorry and its not like those parts are that expensive.

I'm talking about the throwout bearing. It sounds like you are talking about the pilot bearing....I'm definitely changing that. I have the tools since I'm using my buddies shop.

My bad, I must have had a brain fart as I thought I read "pilot bearing". Definetely swap out the throwout bearing though. Your new slave cylinder should come with a throwout bearing already on it. Good luck on the clutch swap.

guys i think your confused! he has a 01 camaro...and already has the updated slave...do he need to replace jus and only the throw out bearing....???? i would like to kno too
