Swapped to pennzoil synchromesh (same as GM AFAIK) this morning and I'm happy so far. Info on my trans:

fully rebuilt with lots of new hard parts ~1 year ago, upgraded to carbon blockers and put in Mobil 1 synthetic ATF, swapped for fresh mobil 1 again 500 miles after the rebuild. The trans felt notchy almost a metal on metal feeling from the **** with lots of noise in neutral at idle.

I assumed most of my problems were due to the cruddy korean input shaft I dropped in. After the pennzoil the trans is quieter and shifts feel much easier without the odd feel. If it goes back to feeling crappy I'll try Dex 3 next. But I'm very happy with the pennzoil so far.

Mobil 1 synthetic ATF was the best i used. it stopped my 5th gear grind when cold.

tried synchromesh, RP synchromax, regular Dex III, and Redline
