Default Spec 3, 02 Slave, drill mod, and Viper Spec installed!

Wow

I went up to EPP to pick up my car yesterday and took my car for a little test drive. Heres the list of modifications that were completed in the drivetrain.

Spec 3 clutch
Drill mod
updated Slave cylinder
Viper Spec build including
new viper spec forks
billet sliders
carbon fiber blockers
and a few other things I cant pull of the top of my head.

With that said... the clutch is effortless. I couldnt believe how much different it felt from stock. It was nice soft and smooth. The break in chatter does suck a little but its nothing I cant live with. Its not near as bad as I thought it would be from reading the reviews on this board. I was expecting the spec 3 to be a pain in the *** and tough to drive. Not at all! The tranny is amazing! Its like sliding a hot knife through butter. By far the smoothest tranny I have ever had the pleasure of driving! And this is with the SS Hurst and stock stick!

I didnt get to bring it home due to some stock manifold issues so we ordered some long tubes that will fix the problem and add a few ponies while we are at it!

Just thought I would share my happiness and maybe a little review.

Brandon

Sweet man! Sounds like you have a nice setup!

I like my built T56 too.
You did get the Viper synchros too right? Unless that is what you meant by sliders.

I suppose lol. EPP actually sent my tranny to the same shop that Lingenfelter uses in Indiana for the build. I dont know the M6 internals that well. I know they listed billet slider keys, the viper spec syncro kit which inclued the c/f blockers etc.

If it is a good smooth shift, then probably so.

I was talking to Bob about you car the other day, as that will be an upcoming mod. Glad you like it. If they were a sponsor here they would get some more buss. but as their shop looks now they already have enough on their plate.

Hey what does the viper syncros or whatever do? I know the steel 3-4 shift fork will help keep from 3-4 from breaking right? Any info would be nice. Thanks.

Yeah I've checked yours out as well! IT was on the closest lift to the garage door right? Black TA with a procharger? If so what else you have done to it? I wanted to go turbo but after installing LTs I might as well start thinking ATI.

The shop that EPP had do mine usually charges a base of $1400 for it. Not sure how much a stock rebuild would cost w/o any viper spec parts. If you would want more info go ahead and PM me since neither shop is sponsor orf this board.

Actually Bob talked to me about being a sponsor here and he did say it is next thing on his TO DO list. I said the same thing though.. they will have to expand the shop if they do come over here. Every rack was double stacked Friday night with one car on top and one under.

All the viper spec parts are just a little stronger and make the tranny all together much smoother. I really think it felt like a different tranny. In a good way.

I am possibly going to pick up the car this sunday. It depends if they can get it done or not. My buddy is going to have them tune his TT INCON SS also. It should be a fun trip home.

well it is hard to say at this point. I would say it would be whoever could get traction. I will have more peak horsepower right now but not much. He is running only 6 to 8lbs of boost but as you know a turbo can make more power so it should be pretty close. He is still on a stock bottom end though so that is his weak spot. You should stop buy sunday and check it out.
