Help!! RAM stage 3 install problems

Default Help!! RAM stage 3 install problems

Got the clutch in and transmission bolted back up......Bled the air out of the clutch line

When the car is started and clutch pressed all the way to the floor it is hard to get into 1-6th gears and wont go into reverse (grinds)

We used a vaccum to pull the air out of the clutch line and there seems to be a ton of air coming out at 30 psi of vaccuum

Is it possible that the disc is bent and is in constant contact or is there still alot of air in the line causing there to still be friction

Did you also install an adjustable master?
Did you shim the slave?
What flywheel are you running and has it been resurfaced?

I helped with this install seeing as how I was the only one around that had done one before. The kit didn't come with a shim for the slave and said nothing about it. We suspected that there was alot of air in the line so we mity vaced the hell out of it, still no go. and then I remebered that when I did my spec 3 that I made my master cylinder adjustable, so we took it out and we are going to make it adjustable, will this do the trick by giving it an extra push?

The disk is obviously not disengaging. You're going to have to do something to make the slave push the fingers on the pressure plate in farther. I assume you didn't somehow put the disk in backwards. If you did that, you're screwed.

Did you upgrade the slave and master? I do believe I have seen something about the RAM needing an adjustible master. Go to their web site or call them. I hope it's a simple fix for you.

Making the master adjustable will help.
I know it did not come with a shim, but I shim every Ram power grip I have installed since I did mine and it needed a shim.

ok a few quick question...do you for sure need an adjustable master with RAM?
can someone quickly explain the meaning of shim? and also are all of these problems i see everyone having with the clutch pedal sticking and stuff not engaging happening when doing just a clutch or when doing a new clutch/master/slave/flywheel

RAM Power Grip here also (not HD). I used a Fidanza flywheel, "288" slave and a McLeod adj. master. I am glad I bought the adj. master because I adjusted it all of the way out before I could get the car in gear without the rear tires spinning. MityVac'd the resevoir several more times while slowly depressing the pedal and finally it went into gear. Engagement was right off the floor for the first few hundered miles and moved up a bit during break in.
My clutch kit and slave didn't come with any shim or shim suggestion either.

i'm about to install a ram powergrip, i have the ram adjust. master also, should i use a shim too or not(didnt come with one).

Use a shim. You can get one from SPEC from cheap or make your own.
