Default $900 + 400 miles break-in = shi-t

With a complete clutch set-up and alum fly wheel why do you have to wait 400+ MILES to break-in a set-up. Space shuttles have no break-in time. At 400 miles your warranty is shot anyway. You tell me ? I think if you own a performance car you have stamped on your forehead screw me. Second clutch in the break-in period.

I'm with you. New brake pads and rotors are good to go after just a few stops from 35 and then 45. They are then seated. Why then does a clutch have to be babied for 500 miles? If the disk needs to go through such a long process, why doesn't the manufacturer do it? Waht a bunch of BS!

My ram hd was great for 50 miles, then chattered the car like crazy for maybe 400 miles. After that it went back to perfect and holds everything I throw at it.

On the one hand I'm glad to know that the Ram HD does smoothe out. On the other hand, 400 miles of clutch chatter is a loooong time.

Cant say much for the other manuf. But I have had 2 SPEC,s STG II and Now on a STG5. Stg 1-4 require a easy 400-500 mile period of easy street driving. As for the Stg 5 it is a completly different material and makes no mention of a brake in period. I still went easy on it for the 400-500 miles anyway. And now this clutch is working great with no problems and grabbbbs.
